I’ve just spent two half days completing the Q-Ride training course with Ace Riding School at Alderley to obtain my “R” motorcycle license. Considering that I’ve been riding motorbikes since I was about 12 years old and I’m now a fair bit older than that I thought it might be about time to become street “legal”.

After a bit of initial nervousness at jumping on to the unfamiliar 600cc Yamaha shown below I found the whole experience very enjoyable and rewarding. The course is very comprehensive and includes practising some basic moves in a controlled area as well as a ride out through Samford on the open highway.

It was just great to be back on two wheels with a motor again.
