The HCM City People’s Committee on Tuesday gave its approval to a Canadian-invested company to build a garbage-fuelled power plant. The company will also build a plant to collect and treat garbage wastewater and bio-gas.
The plants will be located in Rubbish Dump 1 and Rubbish Dump 2 in Cu Chi District’s Tam Tan Commune. The city said the treatment plant will reduce the amount of time for garbage to disintegrate from the current 25 years to five years.
