Sparkpod

Posted 18/07/2003 under blogging tools

Ok - here’s a new blogging tool that you can try out for free for 60 days. After that it will cost you US$24.99 per year to subscribe. Not too bad, but what do you get for the money?

Well.. most everything that is available on most weblogging tools, however they say that

Sparkpod stands out as being first to allow you to write your postings in the same visual environment as your web log page design. The sites are fully hosted and allow HTML customizations in posts.

Sparkpod aims to hit the market of people who want to get started web logging without any web experience or technical skill, while still providing dynamic content and a large range of web logging feature sets. Getting going is so easy, we have been able to recommend the site to users of all skill levels with success.

Give it a try at -

Look forward to checking this out! -though these features don’t sound so new. You can also do the same with www.xanga.com
(customize each post’s html etc.)

I just tried it out, the big new feature here isn’t the HTML in posts, but that I can actually post in the same page as people view.

Pretty cool.

I tried it and it does what it says. I wrote the developers to lay out a roadmap of features. It seems to have been smart to get their web service out there before Typepad and AOL get their new services out there. I wish them well.
